MATTEO SIMONI

Matteo Simoni is one of the most celebrated actors in Belgium. He has been the recipient of multiple awards and was selected by the Berlin Film Festival in 2018 as a Shooting Star, one of Europe’s ten most promising young actors. In 2023, he won Belgium’s ‘Academy Award’, the Ensor, for Best Supporting Actor for his role in ‘Zillion’.

His film credits include ‘Gangsta’(Dir. Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah) and its sequel, ‘Gangstas’. ‘The Racer’ opposite Iain Glen, ‘Faithfully Yours’ (Netflix), ‘Milano’ and Tim Mielant’s ‘Wil’(Netflix). Some of his expansive television credits include a series regular on ‘Safety First’(VMMA) and ‘Callboys’ (FBO), the lead in ‘Thieves of the Wood’(Netflix) and a guest role alongside Donald Glover in the third season of ‘Atlanta’(FX).

Aside from his work on screen, Matteo is one of the cofounders of the theatre company FC Bergman, and has performed at the International Theatre Amsterdam in Ivo Van Hove’s ‘Maria Stuart’ and ‘Freud’.
