Ingvar Sigurdsson






Ingvar is considered one of Iceland’s premier actors. His film ‘WHITE WHITE DAY’ was at Cannes in the Semaine de La Critiques section of the competition where he won the award for BEST RISING STAR (at his age quite remarkable but totally deserved). He recently won The Bodil Award for BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR for his performance in Hlynur Palmason’s follow up feature ‘GODLAND’. His most recent international films include ‘EVEREST’, ‘FANTASTIC BEASTS: The Crimes of Grindelwald’, ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’, Robert Eggers’ ‘THE NORTHMAN’ for A24 opposite Alexander Skarsgard, Zach Snyder’s Netflix franchise ‘REBEL MOON’ and David Cronenberg’s ‘THE SHROUDS‘ opposite Vincent Cassel. He recently wrapped the Independent feature film ‘THE PARTISAN’ directed by James Marquand opposite Malcolm McDowell and Charlie Mcdowell’s latest feature ‘THE SUMMER BOOK’ opposite Glenn Close. Ingvar was just at Cannes for the Premiere of Hylnur Palmason’s ‘THE LOVE THAT REMAINS’.
Recent TV credits include a series regular in ‘KATLA’ for Netflix (Dir Baltasar Kormakur) and a guest arc in the final season of ‘KILLING EVE’ for the BBC. He plays the role of Fitzosbern in ‘KING AND CONQUEROR’ opposite James Norton for the BBC.
Ingvar has won the Edda Award for Actor or Actress of the Year four times for his performances in Slurpinn & Co. Angels of the Universe, Cold Light, and Jar City in 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2006 respectively, as well as winning the Audience Award at the 2000 European Film Awards for his performance in Angels of the Universe. He is a star of the hit international series ‘TRAPPED’, and has performed in theatre all over the world, most recently the starring role in Irina Brook’s adaptation of Peer Gynt.
